Crowns Lost to Lightning

Fields flash by under an overcast expanse of winter sky
Heater rattles on and on and on
Snowplowed burial mounds
Studded with barbed wire
This whole state feels like death
Abandoned farm houses
Sagging a little more each year
They have to collapse eventually

And I can relate
